As part of EXFO's 600 series of handheld instruments, the FLS-600 light source is designed with versatility in mind. It is available in laser and LED versions with multiple wavelength options. Additionally, you can create a list of "frequently used" wavelengths and scan only these during testing, saving valuable time.

Automatic Wavelength Switching
When using the FLS-600 in automatic switching mode, it automatically cycles through available wavelengths. When paired with a compatible power meter (FPM/FOT-600), the meter recognizes the wavelength being used and switches to the appropriate calibration parameters.
Remote Referencing
Using signal encryption, the receiving end can obtain information about the power used as a reference, ensuring efficient referencing even when the two devices are far apart.
Ideal for FTTx
EXFO's FLS-600 can test passive optical networks (PON) using three wavelengths—1310 nm, 1490 nm, and 1550 nm—which are recommended by ITU-T (G.983.3) for PON applications.
